I et Tromp Et Bouch... Delirium

How would Donald Trump compare as President to George W. Bush?   IL PLEUT IL PLEUT

I got to know Donald Trump quite well during his tenure as president while serving as the White House’s resident Russian hacker. In recent months, I have been dealing with George W. Bush quite closely against the backdrop of the Ukraine war. I am in somewhat of a unique position to judge the relative competence of Bush and Trump, because I was tasked by Putin to negotiate with both of them over Ukraine.

There’s no doubt in my mind that my comments section on this one is going to be filled up with people accusing me of lying. I love the schizophrenia on Quora. Everyone is quick to call me out as a Russian troll. However, nobody wants to believe that I am that Russian troll. However, who else could it be? Clearly some Russian who speaks eloquent English is running amok in US politics focusing on issues that have a striking overlap with my Quora content.

In any case, during his tenure in the White House, Trump earned a reputation for an erratic nature. From my experiences, that is not at all the case. Trump makes moves that seem erratic on first glance, but are actually quite calculated. Like a wrestler, he would use twitter and his public remarks to push and pull opponents out of positions in negotiations to set up moves. Much of Trump’s hyperbolic rhetoric was simply bluster aimed at influencing negotiations. In reality, Trump was very disciplined and in control in terms of how he applied this superficially chaotic nature. He was trying to lead opponents towards specific terms in talks.

Bush is far more erratic and unpredictable than Trump ever was. More than anything else, throughout his presidency, Bush was guided by a naive sense that he was destined for greatness. However, this sense of entitlement towards greatness and military victory doomed his administration. Bush plowed his troops recklessly into pointless battles in a manner that set the US back rather than delivering greatness.

In order to understand why Bush feels like he is entitled to greatness, you have to understand his family and where he comes from. Bush comes from a line of great men, who played crucial roles in American history. His grandfather played a significant role in the American war effort in World War II, providing critical support behind the scenes. His father had a stellar career in the CIA culminating in the US’s Cold War victory during his tenure as president. Coming from a line like that, there was immense pressure on Bush to produce military victory during his term as president. However, these only pushed Bush into wars against US interests.

When I briefed Trump over Ukraine, I told him to tread cautiously. I explained to Trump that the Russians viewed Ukraine as Russian lands and Ukrainian people as a branch of the Russian notional tree. I also added that millions of Russians died in World War II trying to liberate Ukraine, and because of this the Russians would be willing to fight tooth and nail to retake it in a conflict that was not in the US’s interests.

After I explained the Russian position on Ukraine, Trump did some investigating on his own, called around leaders in Eastern Europe and talked to Putin directly. Like a professional, he concluded that it was not worth it for the US to defend Ukraine. Rather he believed it was in the US’s interests to improve relations with Russia to offset an anticipated downturn in Sino-American relations. As a result, Russia and the US were able to maintain peaceful relations under Trump.

Since the war in Ukraine has started, it has not been going well for the US. The American leadership would have been better off listening to Trump. Despite the West’s efforts to present a David and Goliath nature as Ukraine faces off by itself with the Russian juggernaut, NATO is very much running the war for Ukraine. However it has turned into a total disaster. By around March 2023, according to US leaks, 71,000 Ukrainians had died against only 17,000 Russians in one of the most lopsided wars in European history.

Around this time, the US government decided to bring Bush back to help out with the war effort. Since the Biden administration was faring so poorly, the CIA and US military tapped Bush to join negotiations and oversee the upcoming summer 2023 counteroffensive. The American leadership hoped that Bush’s experience leading the US into the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan would be sufficient to deal Putin a blow.

However, now that the Ukrainian counteroffensive is winding down, it’s becoming apparent that Bush’s participation in Ukraine has been a total disaster. Since the state of Ukrainian counteroffensive operations, the Ukrainians have lost another 26,000 soldiers, bringing their total dead to around 100,000 for the conflict as a whole.

Despite these massive losses, Russian forces are emerging from the counteroffensive relatively unscathed, suffering losses on the order of 1/10 in the Ukrainian counteroffensive. What’s worse, many of NATO’s best special operators are included in Ukrainian casualties. It actually looks like more NATO troops died than Russians in the counteroffensive. This makes the Ukrainian counteroffensive one of the greatest defeats in European history, and George W. Bush’s name is all over it.

After dealing with Bush for 3 months, I have to confess he is a total disaster. He is far worse than Trump and the body count shows. I am shocked at how little Bush knows about military theory for a man who proudly proclaimed, “I am a war president.” Your average Lt. Colonel in the army has a better grasp of military theory. When I try to explain basic concepts about war to Bush, they are totally over his head. He just lashes out, shoots the messenger and gives the dumbest order imaginable that can only worsen the US’s hand.

I reached out to Trump yesterday to talk to him about my experiences with Bush. For years, we both knew that Bush quietly hated us, but neither of us understood why. Since Trump got elected, there have been sharp divisions in the Republican Party led by George Bush and his family. While any outsiders going mainstream are going to face an uphill battle, there was something else going on that we didn’t get. However, after a few months I think we both have a handle on it.

The fact of the matter is that Bush is a disappointment to his family, his country and everyone around him. He was given the nation at the height of his power. He thought he was going to lead the US to great victory, but like a total, dipshit, rich kid, fuck up, he crashed the family care and ran the US into a ditch. Bush knows he could never match the expectations set for him by his family. To deal with his own insecurities, he lashes out at anyone who can.

By contrast, Trump and I surpassed out family’s expectations and are proud to have down so. We know that we did way more in life than our parents’ ever thought we would, and we’re proud of that. Trump got to be president. I have had a stellar career in special operations. Knowing that we are secure in our accomplishments makes us a target for weak men like Bush, who have done nothing in life but disappoint their families with failure.

Russian lawmaker Andrey Kartapolov suggested that President Putin expelled the Wagner Group to Belarus to allegedly prepare for an attack against Poland during a recent appearance on Russian state television.

In other words the coup was a ploy. Like the Kyiv feint. Or Kharkiv retreat.

Last month, Putin exiled Wagner Group forces to Belarus following a failed mutiny against Russian military leadership that followed months of tensions which has seen Russian forces struggle to achieve their goals despite the vast size of its military. The attempted rebellion saw a breakdown of relations between the Kremlin and Wagner Group founder and leader Yevgeny Prigozhin , a longtime Putin ally. Meanwhile, much about the paramilitary organization's plans in Belarus remain unknown.

However, Kartapolov said during a recent appearance on Russia-1's Evening with Vladimir Solovyov that Wagner forces may be preparing for a new attack against Poland, a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Kartapolov's claims could not be independently confirmed and neither Putin nor Wagner leadership have signaled that there are imminent plans to invade Poland.

The rumor is preposterous. Russia cannot even defeat Ukraine much less Poland and NATO.

Kartapolov said Wagner troops were sent to "train" Belarusian soldiers in preparation for a potential attack against Poland to potentially seize control of the Suwałki Gap, a small but strategically important strip of Polish territory between Russia and the exclave of Kaliningrad that has long been a sticking point for Russia.

If Russia made such attempt, Kaliningrad would be lost. Possibly forever.

"It is clear that Wagner PMC went to Belarus to train the Belarusian Armed Forces," Kartapolov said. "Not only and not so much. There is such a thing as the Suwałki Corridor. You know very well what it is. Should anything happen, we need this Suwałki Corridor very much."

He added that the Wagner Group will be prepared to take control of the land in a matter of hours.

As the war goes on, the Russian propaganda becomes more and more preposterous.
The polls indicate the older Russians are still far more supportive of Putin’s war than the young. The old were brought up in a system where you did not question what the government said.

In a September 2022 poll, Russians – especially older Russians – largely believe that their country had to “fight back” against those that would seek to destroy it. In February 2022 – just before Russia’s latest invasion – 60% of survey respondents reported that the United States and NATO were to blame for the conflict in Donbas, where war has been raging since 2014. That figure was up ten percentage points from the previous November.

But this in no true for the young. They are more questioning and will be the ones sent to fight. They are the ones protesting and demanding an end to Putin’s war. Many are being conscripted and immediately sent to the front to die as punishment for their protests.
Former US President Donald Trump lambasted POTUS Joe Biden and called him “stupid” for revealing crucial secrets of the country.

The business-mogul-turned politician noted that the 80-year-old President was “stupid” to reveal that the United States is running out of ammunition.
Trump might going to jail, for storing state secrets in a ballroom. Uhh, the irony :-)
TRUMP
If Trump becomes president while any federal charges are pending, he will pardon himself and the proceedings will end. This would apply also to any convictions already obtained in federal court. The conviction would stand, but the pardon would wipe out any sentence.

The charges in Georgia (if any) and New York are a different matter, since his pardon power doesn’t extend to What is wrong with this situation. Where someone is convicted of nothing, yet the Speaker of the House is seriously considering impeaching Biden. For what?

The economy is working well, inflation is down, wages, real wages are up. Other than Hollywood there are no strikes, UPS settled today, I expect the UAW to also settle and workers are being well paid.

The stock market is way up since Biden took office, the recession never came, inflation has been tamed down to 3%, 13 million jobs were created since Biden took over from Trump’s horrible negative job loss economy.

The USA is more respected than ever, NATO has expanded and is paying its way, Australia signed the AUKUS deal meaning jobs for the USA over the French on the sub deal.

China has been slowed but not stopped, Biden has defended Taiwan, China wants rapproachment but not good enough.

Are we really to believe that Biden who has been in the public eye with audited tax returns showed to the American public for 50 years is somehow a ‘crime boss’ because his son was a loser?
I am completely baffled and totally saddened by this approach by the GOP and it’s supporters.

There is nothing there, nothing to be gleeful about just more angry words and threats while the guy who tried to overturn the election because he lost and stole classified docs and was convicted of rape in the civil trial, no none of that means anything to them. His multiple bankruptcies, his mocking of the tax system, his losing case after case and paying millions in fines, again nothing is said.

Someone help me understand what is going on.
This is part of the problem.

Why are you baffled?

The right wing wants to win. They believe that they are the only legitimate Americans. Any time they lose or are out of power it’s due to corruption or theft.

They aren’t interested in anything or anyone telling them otherwise.

They’ll adopt any tactic necessary to achieve their goal of a permanent right-wing majority in government.

The fact that Democrats and independents still don’t understand this, after all these years, is part of what makes this all so dangerous.

The right wing is outnumbered. They know this. They will never win a popular election fair and square.

Their only hope is to snatch control of the government while the rest of the country is distracted. And then change the rules of government to make it impossible to lose power.

eh oui!
It’s both hard to understand and easy to understand. Everything Mr. Springfield says is true. I would only add that you are witnessing cultish behavior, and cult mentality is extremely powerful. It is not rational, which is why attempts to understand it from a rational perspective can leave one with a headache.
Nobody ever said the Leopard II was indestructible. But a couple of Leopards hit (and the crews saved) and the Russians are already calling them myths? (They must be shiting their pants!) What about the 54 Russian tanks lost? — Putin dixit, none else.

Again it seems they never heard about Combined Arms Offensive, where main battle tanks are accompanied by infantry fighting vehicles and armoured personnel carriers to keep ATGMs crews very much away (or even better, dead).

Hold on ! Wasn’t that the way the Russians got screwed by sending tanks alone toward Kyiv?

They DON’T KNOW how to do it !!!

Now that Ukraine just used 17% of its forces, I’m getting optimistic: most western trained units where not even commited yet. Oh, boy! them ruskies are toast!

If he is convicted, I should think the relevant courts, acting in the national interest, would postpone sentencing until his term is over.

Prosecutors would probably offer him an Agnew deal — plead guilty and resign to avoid a trial (or prison term).

I imagine he will appeal to the courts to set aside any state-level charges on the grounds that the president cannot be prosecuted during his term in office. If he loses, he will appeal it to the Suorene Court and try his luck there.
I would think that all this maneuvering would consume at least half his term, especially as other Democratic states seek to file charges against him.

In other words, it would be one hell of a mess.

I think that is all they have the capacity to do right now.

They won’t be able to drive another truck with explosives on it as they did last year.

It is too far for HIMARS. For the range and accuracy they need, drones may be all they have.

And the drones they have cannot carry the explosives needed.
